Redcaps are a mischievous breed of goblin hailing from the Scottish borderlands

 They are known to dye their hats with human blood.

 They are eerily quick on their iron shod feet.

Berthe and Paul.

These are two characters from a story about a Circus which is also a spy Agency.

Berthe Gothel is an agent runner descended on her mothers side from an ancient line of German witches. She loves her job, and is easily exited.

 Paul, is her right-hand man and best friend from boarding school, he's an acrobat by day and an infiltrator by night. he is of a much more melancholy temperament than Berthe.
